My name is Monica Shulman and I am a photographer. Chessa is a family nickname my parents gave me when I was just a baby and she is my much bolder and braver alter ego. When I first started writing Ciao, Chessa! it was a place for me to tell the stories behind my photographs. Since then it has grown into a daily diary about art, photography, living in New York City, my little family and the people and things that inspire me.
