Forever Firsts

Jumping in muddy puddles!  A favorite way to spend the day.
I don't think you ever really run out of "firsts" as a parent.  At least that's what I've been telling myself.  I worry endlessly about how quickly time goes and I feel so nostalgic for big moments like the first time she rolled over, the first time she sat up, the first time she slept through the night, the first time she said "mama" or the first time she said "I love you, mommy" (I nearly died of an exploding heart on this day so it's not something I could ever forget).  These were enormous events for her and for us and I've since decided that the firsts will last forever.  This weekend wasn't exactly a first since she's seen snow many, many times but watching her actually sit in it and play with it and jump around in it and not slip all over the place was so exciting.  The way I look at it, for the rest of our life together we can anticipate little moments like the ones we had last weekend to build lasting memories and a long, long list of "Firsts."

Feeling the snow on her face and wearing my gloves because hers got soaked pretty quickly.
