I fell in love with the lush and green landscape of London when I was there over the summer. Every street was more charming than the last and as I was looking through my photos I started to think about how even stripped of their color the images of these places are so lovely. When a place is this beautiful you don't have to rely on color for character. And, while shooting landscapes in black and white is not a new concept (hello) it's an important reminder that sometimes going back to basics and something more simple (and learning from the masters) is endlessly inspiring.
PS -- Tips for shooting landscapes, my favorite beach in black and white, and seeing in black and white.
I love how nature in black and white actually starts to look like purposeful patterns.
