Late last month, on one particularly beautiful and unseasonably warm day, we met our cousins on Long Island for lunch and a boat ride. It was the baby's first time out on the water and we all learned how to fish. My girl has been busy watching boats on the Hudson River pretty much since birth and she loved her first ride. I miss summer already and I'm hoping that we all chase away these colds and recurring mini-flus once and for all so we can take another little trip before the winter. In the meantime, looking at these pictures (and the Instagram shots) from this really fun afternoon are making me feel better.
We caught them (even I did!) and threw them back in the water.
I picked out the sweater (a hand-me-down from my niece that I honestly have been dying for her to wear since I'm obsessed with cable knit) and she insisted on her leopard print leggings with sunnies of course.
The girl turned around, looked right at me and said "wohhh mommy! a fish!"
She really wanted in on the action.
We saw a random hat floating in the water and the Captain insisted we grab it. It took a few tries but we finally did!
She waved to every boat and jet ski that went by.
