Yesterday, instead of blogging and working and doing a million other things that needed to get done, I decided that I needed to take the day with my babe, my sister and two nieces. We took off for the Bronx Zoo and had the best time ever until we got soaked in the rain. It was definitely an advenuture and absolutely worth it. Here are some photos from the weekend and one from the zoo. You can see more here.

Scaffolds everywhere in NYC. I see them as both a nuisance and a promise. A nuisance because they're hideous and block the light, but a promise because you just know that they're doing something better to an existing building or making something new.
We also went to the Bronx Zoo at the beginning of the summer. And check out this tutorial about taking portraits and how to take better pictures with your iPhone. I needed to remind myself of these tips over the last few days!

breaks are good, its completely worth it every time
love that you turned ugly scaffolding into a metaphor. nice job. hope you girls enjoyed the zoo! (looks like it) :)
ana, don't I know it. I feel like I've been hyper-aware of it lately. Maybe bc I blinked and the baby is a big girl. either way, I wish I would have started sooner...even before she was born so it would be more of a practice.
Becca, yeah, sometimes I'm not completely cynical. :)
And the zoo was fantastic until we got poured on. Lucia was the only one who wasn't annoyed about it. I think she was happy I wasn't obstructing her view with her plastic stroller cover...bc mom of the year over here left it at home.
