Fridays

Copyright Monica L. Shulman

This new portrait of my girl captures her personality perfectly -- always smiling and being silly. The summer is almost over and with the new season on the horizon I find myself reflecting on all that has happened over the last few months. So many amazing memories were made but also a very sad one for me. If there's anything I learned from my grandfather's life and death it's to always look forward and not be afraid to look back if for no other reason than to see how far you've come. I'm embracing all that lies ahead with open arms and excitement.

Over the next few months I'll be posting more tutorials, personal stories, fun giveaways, amazing work by other artists and, of course, a lot of new imagery and I can't wait! I'll also be adding new work to my website including scans from my film archive. But first, we're going on a mini-vacation down to Miami and of course I'll be sharing on Instagram.  We're all excited, especially Lucia, who has been talking about seashells and ocean waves for days now.

Happy weekend and here are some cool links from around the web.

New York Fashion Week is coming!

This house tour (and the home actually belongs to one of my favorite bloggers) is just...stunning.

Baby chicks wearing funny hats (yes, it is as cute and weird as it sounds).

I make a mean guacamole but it never occurred to me to make my own chips!

Love these photos by Peter Hapak.

I  need more pink in my life.

An Israeli couscous salad that I will be making next week for sure.

Baseball caps are a thing...not a trend I will be experimenting with though.

We have way too many coffee mugs as it is but I really need these Roald Dahl mugs in my kitchen.

Can't wait to see what you have in store for your blog in the coming months - I'm excited :) And oh my goodness - Lucia is just the most beautiful!

PS: Thank you so much for your amazingly sweet comment on my Equals Record post this week. Really meant the world to me.
