Abstract London in the rain at night...after some wine (disclaimer).
After a long weekend in London visiting my girlfriends the week got off to a rocky start. My girl had the stomach flu and then I was rudely attacked by it as well. But, things have (mercifully) returned to normal and we're looking forward to an uneventful weekend with a possible trip to the zoo and maybe even an afternoon snooze or two while the baby naps (something I always say I'll do but somehow can never settle down long enough to actually go through with it).
Before I got sick I did go through many of my photos from London and I hope you've like them so far. I reconnected with myself on that trip. It's so important to get away sometimes. Being with two of my best girlfriends who have known me since forever, staying up late, drinking too much, walking around a new city with a camera around my neck and laughing at ridiculous things...I really needed that. I see myself as a mom and wife above anything else and those are roles that I cherish but sometimes I'm left wondering where's the "just me" part of me. I realized that that "me" is always in there no matter what hat I'm wearing - mama, partner, photographer, sister, daughter, friend, blogger. I had so much time to think and it really made me even more thankful for what I have and who I get to share it with. I couldn't wait to see my little family as we all had our own adventures last weekend - my husband was away with his friends and my baby girl was spoiled by my parents who were babysitting. So, I hope you have a lovely weekend and take some time to remember all the reasons why your life is so special and in the meantime, here are some fun links from around the web.
