An afternoon in Brooklyn

Copyright Monica L. Shulman

Living all the way downtown it takes less time to cross the bridge to Brooklyn than it takes to go north of 23rd Street.  So a few weeks ago we decided to take a ride for some pizza, a little run in Brooklyn Bridge Park and a few turns on a carousel (just $2 a ride).  We did all of that plus our kid crashed her first birthday party.  How fun to celebrate under the bridge with the New York City skyline behind you.

If you're in New York and looking for a fun adventure, this is for you.  I've got a feeling we'll be going there a lot this summer and having many picnics on this lawn.  And, maybe next time I'll actually take some photos of us on the carousel.  I was starting to feel a little dizzy but my girl loved it!

I know that from this perspective her position looks a little scary but the fence is actually very safe and sturdy.

Here's a different view of the same neighborhood from almost years ago.  I can't believe how different things are in life, my style of photography and on my blog since that post.
