Postcards from New Jersey

Remember we went to visit my cousins in New Jersey last weekend?  We had such a wonderful time and I could hardly believe that this wooded, storybook place exists just an hour and a half from Manhattan.  Truly.  I knew they had a farm but nothing could have prepared me for the lush green and the crisp air.  Granted it was 105 degrees in the tristate area last weekend but still...out in the country the air was feeling thick but still fresh.  We rode through the property, ate farm stand fare for dinner, watched the sunset over the trees, visited a dairy farm and just generally enjoyed the company of my beautiful extended family.  This city girl is already planning our next visit.

Here are a few photos from our quick trip out of the city.

And by the way, I used my favorite and most versatile zoom lens to shoot these.

It was raining pretty hard at one point but underneath this canopy of trees we stayed perfectly dry...

Solar panels provide energy for the pool heat and all the electricity in the house. Cool, right?
