When I was a girl one of my favorite games was the one where you lie on your back on the grass and "look for" things in the clouds. You know that game? I could lie there forever. My mother told me that when she was small and still living in Cuba she loved to wile away the day staring up at the sky and she almost always saw an old woman in a rocking chair. I always remember that when I was little I would look for that old woman and once in a while I really thought I could see her.
Nowadays I don't care much if I can find the old woman - I just want to find the time to lie on the grass in the first place.
It was a bit too chilly to lie in the sand this weekend at the beach but I did take the time to walk around with Lucia and my husband and admire the beauty of the ocean and the sky. Isn't it remarkable? I've visited this place 1000 times and it always looks so different and no less inspiring.
Incidentally, a photograph that I took here a few years ago was recently "stalked" on Etsy. See it here.
