Bath Time

Since my niece was born I've seen her at least once a week - sometimes more often because we've gone away together and sometimes less because one of us was sick or on vacation. Now that my sister and I are both pregnant we talk to her about the babies and she pats our bellies and talks about them.

I'm so excited for my girl that I can hardly take it. I'm excited and nervous of course but happy that I've had some practice with my sister's daughter. I think she knows that things will be different. She and I are very, very close but lately from the moment I arrive at her house she wants to be next to me. She wants to play and hug and snuggle on the couch. She wants me to read to her and help with her bath. The other day she said "Titi is Paloma's best friend" - I mean, I started to actually cry.

When I think about how much I love her and then I think about how much I love my own daughter, I feel like my heart might explode. My sweet Little who I'm so proud of with every kick and nudge and somersault - I just can't believe that soon she will be here. The other day I asked Paloma if she was going to help me with her cousin and she said "Yes, Paloma helps Titi." I explain to her that she will teach her cousin everything she knows and that they can be best friends and I think she gets it. She looks at me very intently and nods her head when I ask her questions.

Here are some recent photos of her.
