Street Art New York
One of my favorite blogs, My Love For You is a Stampede of Horses, recently featured and reviewed this awesome new book on New York street art. The founders of BrooklynStreetArt.com, Jaime Rojo and Steven P. Harrington, have just published Street Art New York, a look at 102 artists from around the world who have left their art-mark on the Big Apple.
I'm personally always paying attention to what I see out there on the street. There literally is art everywhere in this city. I agree with Meighan O'Toole, the curator of MLFY that "street art is so ethereal and has a very little life...there is something really special about seeing work of friends and other artists you've seen on the street before in a permanent place that you can visit." True that, Meighan.
You can get your copy here (it's not as expensive as you'd think and it'd make a cool coffee table book).

ps--this is pretty random but on the day that I found out I was pregnant I saw street art with the name that we ended up choosing for our girl. And, in fact, when I saw it written there I knew in my bones that I was having a girl even though I was barely 4 weeks pregnant.
