How Other People See New York

I love New York...and I'm not the only one. Look at these simply gorgeous photographs taken by fellow New Yorker, blogger and photographer, Jamie, of From Me to You.

I love all seasons in New York - the summer is so colorful and exciting, the spring is so hopeful, the fall is so rich, and the winter...beyond being cold, is so magical. And, the best part about the winter, other than Central Park in the snow: there really is no season like the holiday season in Manhattan. How can you look at these images and not fall madly in love with the most fascinating city in the world?

Please visit Jamie's blog for more inspiration and beautiful imagery. Plus, she shoots film and she is really motivating me to dust off my old cameras and remind myself of one of the reasons why I fell in love with photography in the first place...the anticipation of seeing my images on paper and not instantly on a screen.

These are beautiful...I feel like I'm in an old novel from the turn of the century...riding in horse drawn carriages, long black gloves...just so nostalgic, classic NY.

Oh how beautiful!! I am in love. New York in the winter is one of the most amazing places in the whole world... and you blog and your friends pictures have reminded me of that. I am going to Utah next week. I was planning on taking my digital camera, but you might have a point.... film would be an amazing change of pace. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I added you to my blog roll, and can't wait to see more.

I've always heard NY is the best this time of year. I'm sad I've never been there to see it in all it's glory. These and your photos let me have a peek into what it's like.
