"It is not necessary to have gone through some training - long, short or academic - to be a great photographer. What's important is to have something to say, and the ability to pursue it tenaciously until you can express it properly."
Maria Hambourg, Curator of Photography at the Met
I know I've shared this quote before but I really love it and it's so true. Maybe it's the weather, or maybe it's the fact that I'm working on a number of different things and I do not know the outcome of any of them yet. But, I think that I need to remind myself that I've been here before and I've worked hard and I've done my best and for better or worse, it has always worked out. Yes, I definitely need to remind myself of that. I'm pretty good at being my own personal cheerleader.
Do you ever feel that way?

Gorgeous photo, darling!

it is good to have this reminder! sometimes i cheer myself on; sometimes i beat myself up. and sometimes i want to give myself a big hug, but that has proven tricky. when this is desperately needed, i generally grab a cat and hug him instead. :)
I love this quote and I agree, it is important to follow your heart and capture photography with what you see through your heart's eyes, if that makes sense. I am having a blog giveaway if you want to take a lookie, enjoy your week!
yes, yes, and yes. But sometimes I'm also my own worst enemy. Love this.
oooo, I totally know what you mean!!
thanks, everyone, for your comments:) I just love this quote bc I think that it can apply to pretty much anything. I really do think that we have to keep working, keep going...even if we don't always trust it or believe it.
Maegan, I here you..I'm my own worst enemy too. terrible.
I totally have to remind myself that I need to be my own cheerleader sometimes!
I get easily discouraged because I'm not a professionally trained photographer, and an MLIS can't get me a photo shoot.
