I know a lot of people have been saying this and it is so true...his films shaped my childhood. The first time I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off was at a sleepover in the house I grew up in. The first time I saw Sixteen Candles was on a cable channel with about 800 commercials - we rented it a few days later and watched it again and again.

And the Breakfast Club..."he'll get up! we'll all get up! "it'll be anarchy!"
And Some Kind of Wonderful...Watts is putting on the diamond earrings says..."What do you think?" Keith replies..."You look good wearing my future." I just saw this movie for the millionth time the other day and I still got the goosebumps...

XOXO!!
I must have watched Some Kind of Wonderful over 50 times. The Breakfast Club was awesome too. What a crying shame. He was so young.
We are seriously losing so many greats this year! Insane!
I mean, he was just too young to go! I watch any of these movies any time they're on. really. any. time. lol!

Brilliantly put. What would we have done without him?
SO SAD!! He was one of a kind and a hero to a generation.
I was sad to hear of his passing. I loved his movies. They played such a big part of my teen years.
I saw that tribute. So incredible, isn't it?
yes - those movies were my childhood and teenage years - and i sew and i don't think that i will ever not love "pretty in pink" and her awesome clothing inventiveness
This is definitely a sad loss... But he will live on through his classic films.
