How can it be that we were in Italy 3 months ago? It seems like yesterday.
I was looking through my images and came upon a few from Siena that I love. We were coming from Lucca and we stopped at a random and completely beautiful hotel in the middle of a vineyard to have lunch. It was a warm spring day and we were driving with the windows open listening to the Italian radio. When we stopped in we saw that we were the only ones in the dining room of the restaurant. I loved that. We had it all to ourselves to enjoy the quiet of the countryside. The only sound was the breeze rustling the leaves of the trees outside the open window we sat by. We knew that this was going to be a moment from the trip that we'd never forget. Something so simple. A lifetime of simples makes something really wonderful. Know what I mean?
I came across this article in Newsweek about Siena and I remembered that afternoon when we were on our way there. It's like magic.
