We climbed to the top of the Duomo in Florence and the city seemed so huge. It was like a giant maze calling out to us. It was intriguing and mysterious. It looked huge and beautiful and welcoming. Walking around we realized that it was all of those things. We fell in love with Florence and its landscape - its tiled rooftops and its lost corners.
We walked down random streets and felt like we were the only people in the city. It was so quiet and calm. We wondered where all the people were. But when you look up and take in all of the surroundings - all the windows, the laundry drying in the sun, the bicycles locked on a gate - you know that there is so much life there and it feels as though the buildings are going to start talking back to you and telling you just what they've seen on these roads in the hundreds of years that they've been there.

Worn Me Down - Rachel Yamagata
(I love this song...I came across it on Pandora and I always get so excited when it comes on again. I just love this woman's voice - she sounds like she really feels each and every word she is singing down to her core. Plus, the video is amazing. I love the colors and tones.)
