La Primavera

Did you know that April is National Poetry month? I certainly did not. But, I know now thanks to my friend Deb who made me aware.

When we got married a dear friend of ours gave us a book of poems by Pablo Neruda.

Here is the translation of the above that I saw spray painted on a wall in Florence while we were traveling there.

"I want to do with you what spring does with cherry trees."

So romantic. So beautiful. I can't take it. I love the way the paint is dripping from the letters - it's like that wonderful feeling you have in your belly when you're in love..that flip flop, butterfly, dangly, am I coming or going feeling. You know what I'm talking about.

I love graffiti - especially in New York where so much of it is pure art. But, sometimes people write senseless or awful things and I find myself wishing that someone would just paint over it and put us out of our misery. I loved seeing this. Someone really wanted us to see it, read it and feel it.
