Made in Itary

Fakes are NEVER in Fashion. Yes, that's Fashion with a capital "F".

The Harper's Bazaar Fakes Are Never In Fashion™ campaign is dedicated to exposing the criminal activities connected to the sale of counterfeit luxury goods—child labor, drug trafficking, and even terrorism.

Plus, they are hideous and they smell like dirty, old plastic.

Fakes Are Never in Fashion

Today's soundtrack:
The Fray-Over My Head

These images were taken in Rome but I saw the bags in every city we visited...even in the tiniest towns of Tuscany.

I couldn't agree more. They are disgusting. I'd rather have a completely unknown bag than a fake. any day.

Gross...imposter designer handbags...smell rotten from a mile away....

On that note- remind me to tell you one day about my experience with my friends in the back of one of those crazy stores in Chinatown from college.....

Amazing what some people consider 'status' and the lengths that others go to to fulfill that need for 'status'.
Great photo-journalism!

I don't do fakes...I figure if I can't afford it, I probably shouldn't be owning it. Yucky :-)
P.S love the new header!

i always thought you had to be pretty status conscience to need to have a big designer bag but where does the mind go to want a fake? clearly there's an incredible market for these which is so very weird. But you know, I'm a big proponent of creativity and originality in dressing...

I'm totally surprised that you saw so many fakes while in Italy...and, yes -- yuck!! There's something so desperate about it.
