Diary of a Random Hipster

I took these as we crossed the Arno in Florence. We asked another tourist to take our photo and then we noticed this guy taking his own photo on the other side of the bridge. The person taking our photo couldn't figure out my camera and I was growing impatient because I thought I'd miss my chance to capture this guy on his quest to take the best and coolest arms-length self-portrait.

I have to find him on Facebook and give these to him.

Where are you hipster guy?

hipster.

Hi, I'm Sheila and I visit your blog regularly but have never before left a comment. I have to say- this is the best post ever!Hilarious!!! What a great discovery this guy was. I am going to look at this throughout the morning and whenever I need a laugh. I'm sure he would have waited all day for that person to figure out your camera. He was determined to end up in your picture!!!

Rebekka, great to see you here...I don't know if he'd feel silly. He was pretty confident:) The bridge was full of people and he kept up his snapping. lol

Sheila, thanks for commenting...welcome!

Matt, I guess it's embarrassing but I think it's also pretty cool...I don't know. He really didn't care what anyone thought and that's so refreshing (in my opinion...) :)

I saw the comment that you left on being red about not being able to give up french fries. I love french fries and could not live without them. I would rather die young than follow the diet that Dc Oz suggested on the show. Lovely blog. I am a follower

that guy is awesome! I love that he's not just looking into his camera and cheesing like many a self portraits I've seen.

I love how you captured it too. Did you hand over your fancy DSLR to the random tourist? I'm scared to hand my camera to anyone. I feel like they would take off running with it!

This would be such an amazing experiment.. ask the people who visit your blog to post one of the pictures, asking if anyone knows him, and asking to repost the picture. I bet you'd find him in a week, with all the links and friends that bloggers have! xo
