When I visited MOPA in San Diego I read this quote that really inspired me. I wrote it down on a flyer that I picked up at the museum and I keep it in my moleskin planner. I read it every day.
"It is not necessary to have gone through some training - long, short or academic - to be a great photographer. What's important is to have something to say, and the ability to pursue it tenaciously until you can express it properly."
Maria Hambourg, Curator of Photography at the Met on John Szarkowski
